THE MASTER ROASTER ORIGIN AND NOTES
In Antigua, Guatemala, Vulcan De Agua is located just nearby. At the foot of the volcano, the processing mill Bella Vista is located. Hunapu is a blend created at Bella Vista and it’s made up of different small producers who own 1-4 hectare farms around Antigua. Luis Pedro Zelaya Zamora is of the fourth generation in his family to be working in the business. For many years, the family’s business was on commercial coffee production and export but eventually he began developing and changing their focus into specialty coffee. The Zelaya family and their coffee endeavors are not only about business, but also to provide a good basis for generations of their family and community to come. Bella Vista continuously encourages its workers to get proper education and in special cases, finances education for some of them.
A BAGGER’S TAKE
Hunapu reminds us of walking through a french city, maybe Paris. You step into a locally owned bakery and an orange zested croissant catches your eye. You want to buy all twenty but you decided with only two. You wake up from your dream only to realize your actually in your local bakery about to order a Cinnamon rasin bagel. Reality, what a drag. Hunapu makes you forget reality.
