Established in 1964, the Kathakwa factory is situated in the central part of Kenya and is well known for it’s high quality coffees. The objective for the Kathakwa factory is to increase coffee production through farmer training, ready access to inputs, helpful agricultural seminars, and providing the most current printed materials on sustainable farming. By paying the farmers some of the highest returns for their coffee, their goal can be easily achieved. 

We taste a more tropical side to this coffee. Notes that stand out are juicy ripe mango, green coconut in the body with a delicate candied ginger finish. 

THE BAGGER’S TAKE:

Pack your bags, because Kathakwa is gonna take you to a tropical island.. It’s as if that postcard your aunt sent you for Christmas. Mangoes in a canopy ceiling, green coconuts freshly cracked with a well worn machete. A sweet sip of ginger tea. Sure, its good.
